AB on POV
What is "head-hopping" (and why is it so easy to fall into)?
Megan and I had this convo on POV (point of view) in early December.
You may notice, for me, a change of scenery: I’m in my kitchen. For the past five glorious, lazy weeks, a Douglas Fir has taken the place of my writing desk. Yesterday, we put away the holiday, dragged that tree to the curb, and while I’m happy to have my desk back, I already miss that tree and its cheerful, colorful lights.
I’m very happy and slightly sad this time of year (as I think others are). Mourning the Christmas tree is not new for me - ha. I’m remembering there’s a poem in my debut collection about such a thing (After the 8-Ball, 2022):
Happy New Year, friends! Thanks for being here.

Beautiful poem, Colleen. I just took down all the ornaments and feel that same sadness.
